I'm from Brunei Darussalam so you will expect photos from my country here in this blog. Here are the brief descriptions of my travels to different countries.
Japan (Visited in 2008 & 2009)
I first went to Japan in June 2008 under JENESYS East Asia Future Leader Programme. I was in Japan for two weeks. During that time i had the opportunity to travel to different prefecture in Japan and photograph different places. Here is what i can tell you about my journey in 2008.
Tokyo
I was here for 5 days. A very fun places to visit. A fusion between old and modern Japan. You can see different varieties here and it have many different places to visit and do shopping. In Tokyo I visited Ginza, Shibuya, Akihabara, Odaiba, Asakusa, Tsukuji, Tokyo Tower and several temples there like Zojo-Ji. During my stay here i stayed in Tokyo Prince Hotel.
Kagawa
I board JAL from Haneda airport to fly from Tokyo to Takamatsu City, Kagawa. When i first arrive here i was looking forward to meet some of my friends there. Kagawa have a lot of beautiful scenery to photograph and it is a very good place to relax. I even had a home-stay here and it is wonderful. It is not so busy compare to Tokyo. In Kagawa I visited Ritsurin park, Zentsuji City, Konpira Shrine, Teshima & Naoshima (Islands), and also i meet my Japanese friends at Kagawa Medical University. During my stay here i stayed in ANA Hotel Clement Takamatsu. Oh ya, the UDON here is a must try. I was here for 4 days.
Kobe
From Kagawa i board a bus passing by Kobe. So my visit here is very short. All i can say is that Kobe had good food and interesting places to visit. Can't describe more because i was only here briefly before going to Kyoto.
Kyoto
Kyoto my dream, I've always wanted to visit here since my high school time. Kyoto is a wonderful place to visit especially if you are looking for something traditional in Japan. This place is full of Japanese traditional culture; i bought a lot of traditional Japanese souvenir here. In Kyoto i visited Kyoto Station, Kyoto Tower, Kinkakuji, Kiyomizu Dera, Gion and Nijo Castle. In Kyoto i had the opportunity to see Geisha and also do Kendo. During my stay here i stayed in New Miyako Hotel and a Traditional Japanese Inn call Ryokufuso Ryokan . I was here for 5 days.
Nara
I went to Nara briefly during my stay in Kyoto. Very traditional place, some part still maintains the old style Japanese house design. You can find many deer here. When i was in Nara i had the opportunity to visit Todai-Ji, talk to the head monk there and saw a giant statue of Buddha 50 feet high.
Osaka
After Kyoto i went to Osaka briefly. Very dynamic city and modern. Here i visited Osaka Castle and had Osaka Style Okonomiyaki. After that i board a Shinkansen (Bullet Train) and head back to Tokyo where i spent few more days before i leave Japan.
